MADRID FUSION MANILA (Manila 23-25 April 2015)

Madrid Fusion Manila

ARUM and the Philippine Department of Tourism have signed an agreement to bring this important gastronomic summit to the Philippines, which will include the chefs’ congress, a trade exhibition and activities centered on Spanish cuisine and products.

The agreement was also signed by FORO DE DEBATE, the organizers of the Madrid Fusion Congress in Spain, which has been the most important international gastronomic event on progressive haute cuisine in the country for more than 12 years.

The main objective of Madrid Fusion Manila is to highlight the Philippines as an Asian Center of Gastronomy and to promote the country as a top culinary destination in 2015 which has been declared the Visit the Philippines year.

Spain has been chosen as the first guest country in this event to highlight the more than 370 years of common history, close ties, mixed culture, and the importance of fusion in the cuisine of the Philippines and Spain. The event will strengthen the common ties and forge better interaction between the two countries.

MADRID FUSION MANILA presents a unique opportunity for Spanish companies to make contact with Philippine trade professionals and potential clients in order to exhibit and introduce their products in a country that has been growing at a very fast rate in the last three years. It will also give support to the companies that are already selling their products there.

Both Spanish and Philippine companies representing food and beverage products as well as culinary components (kitchen equipment, table accessories, etc.) will participate in the Trade Fair.

Madrid Fusión-Manila will have three major components:

  • The Gastronomy Congress, FORO DE DEBATE, the organizers of Madrid Fusion, will be in charge of the organization of the Congress and will select 8 Spanish and 8 Philippine’s prestigious top Chefs. The Madrid Fusion Manila Gastronomy Congress will include presentations, conferences and cooking demonstrations.
  • The Trade Exhibition, coordinated by ARUM with the collaboration of ICEX and the Spanish Commercial Office in Manila will feature food and beverage products, table accessories and culinary equipment, from Spain and the Philippines to importers, distributors and other trade visitors from the region.
  • The Parallel Gastronomy Activities around Manila will include Spanish Gastronomy festivals, tapas competitions and other food-related events.
