The Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) organized the first “Spanish Wine Pavillion” in the Expovinis Brazil 2013 fair in Sao Paolo from the 24th to the 26th of April 2013, in collaboration with Arum Estrategias Internacionalización S.L. and the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX). The fair was a meeting point not only for the professionals from the main Brazilian wineries and organizations but also for their counterparts from Spain, France, Italy, Chile and Argentina. Expovinis also offered a program of business meetings and other activities such as the Top Ten contest that picked the 10 best wines in the exhibition.
The “Spanish Wine Pavilion” occupied an area of130 square meters and where 10 Spanish companies exhibited assorted wines from different Denominations of Origin, highlighting the variety and quality of the country’s wines. The pavilion also had an institutional FEV stand to attend to the numerous visitors.
The pavilion had its own salon where eight wine-tasting seminars were held during the three-day fair that were directed towards the professionals of the sector. Six of the seminars included Spanish wine-tastings under different themes such as “Wine Pairing with Iberico Ham” or “Wines Made with the Tempranillo Grape Variety”. These seminars were presented by Arthur Azevedo and Walter Tommasi, both very well-known experts in Brazil. The other two seminars were directed towards the importers of two of the Spanish companies represented in the pavilion. It is important to point out the enormous success of the seminars that could not attend all the parties interested due to limited space.
